9 MONTHS

36 Wks
35 WKS Doctor/Pregnancy Update: Measured Normal. Uneventful appointment. I showed them my birth plan but she said they'd discuss it as I got closer. Shea and I had fun putting it together and looking up stuff we didn't know. Like delayed cord clamping and "catching" baby.
I did put down that I wanted meds only upon request. I also wanted to try and move around as much as possible and possible use a bath and such. I wanted to basically be open to anything and just use meds as a last resort. I wanted to weirdly prove to myself that I could do this naturally, even when not forced and have a better experience. I felt frustrated after Sydney's birth hearing amazing natural birth stories and wondering if my state of mind could really help. So I am reading tons and really trying to prepare with music and mantras. I also hope to have a more inviting atmosphere; nothing crazy just low lighting and quiet (not nurses talking through my delivery about their afterwork plans, like what happened with Piper). Shea and I know it pretty well so at least he will have my back if the midwives don't know the plan.
I'm taking Zantac 75 for heartburn which has been a nightly game changer! I've never had such bad heartburn before. I am also officially getting the beginning of the end of pregnancy nausea, so yay me. Baby is definitely getting bigger and fortunately not really a rib killer, but he does get pretty weird, pushing out his... butt... so far in fact I feel like my skin might rip! Yay for more stretch marks. But I have asked if he is breech and maybe that's why. And thank goodness he is not. He is definitely head down. So no c-section worries there! I've officially made Hospital packing and Baby buying lists and am trying to get on all that fun, since I put off for so long now I am freaking out that nothing is done. Don't even talk to me about all the kids stuff so, I for sure have lots to do to keep me busy.

37 WKS Doctor Update: I got my GB Strep Test done and it came back negative. So I won't have to worry about antibiotics this time. Which is a relief in some ways. For some reason I remembered that once you were positive you were always treated as positive and needed antibiotics for all subsequent pregnancies. So I guess I worry about that, but from what I've read and I even asked and apparently that isn't true. I got checked, maybe 1 cm dilated. I had contractions all day, so I was a little disappointed to hear I'm only, maybe a 1. Considering my family is leaving to see my sisters graduation in a couple weeks I'm banking on early or late baby. But preferably early so I don't have to freak out the whole time my family is gone. Which with my luck will probably throw me into labor. Also baby is posterior. I wasn't shocked by this considering he protrudes so much sometimes that I knew he was in a weird position. I won't lie it does make me nervous though because posterior makes for a more complicated and painful delivery. I already told Shea if he's still posterior epidural it is. She showed me some exercises to try at home to encourage baby to spin out of that position and into the right one. This is why I love midwives. She physically had us practice a few exercises while we were there.
