12-15 MONTHS

Piper is our sweetheart.
She is a calm and loving little thing but she has to be wear the action is.

Well I have totally failed at not gotting this out sooner but time is flying and life won't stop to let me catch up, so I'm trying hard to make the time instead of waiting for the time to come to me. So she just turned 15 months and as for a long overdue year old update, and the last, drumroll please...

UPDATE
@ 12 Months
Height: 19 lbs 3.5 oz (42%)
Weight: 27.25 in (3%)
Teeth: 7

@ 15 Months
Height: 28.25 in (2%)
Weight: 21 lbs 11.5 oz (58%)
Teeth: 12 (+)
Doctor says her weight percentile will probably go down a lot once her body adjusts to the milk instead of the calorie enriched formula she had for a while longer. Which is normal and perfect so we were cautioned not to worry.

Well at 12 months she was in size 3 diapers and is now well into 4's and not too long ago (a month or two) we went through all the clothes and sized up from the 9 month hand me downs to the 12-18 month ones. Which she has been great all except for the gaps in the wardrobe that didn't get passed down... where are all your leftover pajamas Bella and Syd?
Her hair is growing little by little!!! And that little she has apparently tickles her ears so she reaches up and plays and pulls at it. Which is kinda adorable but there's so little of it I don't want her to pull it out! So we distract her from it when we can.
She's been sipping through a straw since 12 months! Which makes going out and about a bit easier. And she's great with her sippy cup and uses it regularly! She still takes a bottle which we're trying to inch away from but we're lazily struggling with it, because it's easier and less messy and she's just barely gotten used to real milk. For a long while whole milk bothered her stomach so much we went back to formula for a month or so and then gradually introduced 1% milk into her bottles an ounce at a time. Finally she drinks milk, although I'll admit we have formula we still give her here and there because we're finishing off the tub. But from the 5 bottles she was getting a day (too much apparently said the doctor at 12 months), she now has three usually around meals and has her water sippy all day.
As for foods she has really taken off. After those teeth came she got really into solids, we never really did lots of baby food; instead she eats applesauce/veggie straws/cereal/yogurt and any table foods she can manage. So far so good. I will say she seems to be our pickiest eater yet. Some things she won't touch, some she spits out and puts back in over and over till she decides if she is into it or not, some she can barely contain herself with excitement over (candy/chips) -these are usually the things people eat around her but don't share with her. Unfortunately she does have an EGG ALLERGY. She has had two exposures to eggs that she has had rashes and seems to be painful for her to eat. It is so weird because I swear I've given her eggs when she was younger and nothing, but like I said she is picky so maybe she never touched them and that's why I stopped... I can't remember is that bad, dang Mombrain. So after alerting the doctor we have an allergist we are supposed to see so yay. And we are definitely avoiding eggs!
Sadly after months of what I thought were colds her runny nose hasn't gone away. It seems to be worse at home and now Daddy suspects she may have a cat allergy like him. Not much can be done since yes our new home had cats before us, and we've done what we can. Hopefully her body will even out as time goes on and the remaining cat dander and such gets out. We will probably be opening our windows lots this summer.
AND TALKING! She has been such a quiet girl but finally she started babbling more and more around 12 months and loves screaming it out to songs in the car; frustration or singing who knows? She's currently saying things like; "dada", "mama", "here go", "bye", "go". And as she begins talking we catch glimpses of her mimicking us and randomly saying things out of the blue that resemble words. This is such a huge step into toddlerhood! I can't believe this little girl is really leaving babyhood behind. I will see she loves a quiet space to really belt it, but if a stranger comes near she is all stone faced.
She's been an expert at going upstairs for months but recently she has mastered coming down, for the most part. If she's distracted she may stumble so it's nice having the kids watch out for her as she goes down. No big tumbles yet though so I'll count that as a victory. And on another vicory front looks like I've avoided all thumbsucking with this one YAY! (Now to stop Sydney's...) And speaking of victories, she got over the pinching and scratching phase around 12 months. Which has been SO nice.

Her Stranger Danger look and I'm Bored look.
Gotta love it!

LIKES
When daddy comes home she's all smiles
Having daddy chats, usually it's just da da back and forth but as she gets older
Following Sydney everywhere
Pulling stuff out of the fridge
Watching people outside
Closing doors and clapping for herself when she does it
Going up and down stairs
Waving; she just barely started doing this when someone leaves she shouts  and has a little wave
Rain she thinks it's so weird and tries to grab at it
Riding the rocking horse standing up
Vents, not Mommy's favorite thing for her to be interested in...
When Mom and Dad are sitting on the floor she loves to crawl all over
Getting up on the couch and running across but Mom fears a bad tumble so no matter how hard she tries we try to avoid this if at all possible
Trying to open the trash can (thank you to the inventor of locking trash cans)
Giving kisses and hugs, especially to Sydney spontaneously
Getting into messes, the bigger the better. Favorites pulling out the entire wipe container one by one with lightening speed and carrying all the mixing bowls around the house with the colanders on her head followed by Sydney (apparently if Piper starts it Sydney feels free from blame), tearing all the tupperware out of the cabinet and leaving it for Mom as a surprise. The funny thing is if I call her name before, or during when her messes she jumps and I find it hilarious. "Oh no the jig is up."
Baths are hit and miss, but as she gets older and can take them with Sydney they seem to be much happier. Honestly she is even relatively good with the whole water dumped on your head thing, Sydney is training her, all out of love I assure you. Sydney dumps it on her own head too.
Bows are terribly fun to play with and pull off she even attempts putting them back on, but honestly we're embracing her bald little head that we love to rub! So they are mainly for church... well the first five minutes of church.
Dancing to music. She has a little dancing robot toy, betbo (?) that she loves to bring me and dance to. She shakes from side to side with her arms and bobs her head and bends her knees it's all a little lovable (okay A LOT!)
Holdong our hand as she walks independently, especially at church. Big girl make room!

DISLIKES
Getting in the car seat
Wind
Falling off her rocking horse, she gets so frustrated but always gets back up and won't ever sit on it she hates sitting while riding and when people put her sitting down she stands right back up
Getting on the crib
After her bottle and a change she knows what's coming and sometimes she gets worked up before she's even upstairs but usually after 30 seconds she's done screaming and has succumbed to her tired eyes
Having people eat in front of her
Loud noises
Things getting stuck or her getting stuck, she makes the sweetest frustrated cry, and when it or she is unstuck she is all smiles and laughs.
The vacuum...its hilarious. She is not scared but more annoyed by the fact that Mom is doing it and isn't available, SO to show her disapproval she will walk backwards infront of it until she hits it. Sometimes she does it randomly when it's close or intentenionally position herself directly in front of the path and start backing up (frustrating and hilarious), and sometimes she will just hear and start backing up wherever she is in anticipation.

FAVORITES
These two! Partners in crime, might and magic.
Mommy loves all her poses. As she rests her hand on her cheek and smiles to me, and walks around like that for a good minute. Or when she arches back and just stares up just to smile, like what's up there I forget. Or when she's sleeping and covers her face.
Daddy is obsessed with her talking and honestly it's hard not to be. Hearing a baby talk is always melt on a puddle adorable.
Connor is a huge helper. He never minds grabbing Piper from the crib or helping her down the steps or getting her out of the kitchen. Usually if she's upset he'll do his best to grab a toy and sit with her and play with her to cheer her up.
Bella loves pointing out all of Pipers accomplishments to others and encouraging her to show off. "Piper can carry the wipes look watch... Wow good Piper your so good at that!"
Sydney loves her sister more than the world and Piper returns her affections always. They are so adorable and laugh and giggle and play and root for each other. It brings me so much Mama pride! In the past month we've been working on having Piper close doors on her own. It's nice because instead of going into the bathroom or closet or trying to sneak down the basement she closes the door because she knows mama and her biggest fan, Sydney, will give her a big applause as we cheer her on.

Love her side laughs! When she is really tired
and she laughs to the side she falls over and
finds that even more hilarious.

She is ticklish and we all love it!
