On a Train
For fun we went on the Walkersville Southern Railroad. I went on it as a kid and always had fond memories and wanted to take the kids for quite a while. The Martins joined us and we had quite the time.
I remember getting little Confederate and Union flags we waved everytime we saw the soldiers and how the train was captured and there was gunfire and soldiers that boarded and took over and how we pretended to be scared and how the soldiers came around and talked to us and told stories and then there was a BIG battle outside we watched (a few actually from what I remember), and then how then the train was reclaimed by the Union and we all cheered and had a fun ride back!
Well this was a bit more scenic. And the kids were a bit bored but it was a cute little trip anyway.
(***I'll be honest it was a bit of a let down not nearly as exciting as when I was a kid and I was a little embarassed because I kinda had gotten our hopes up. Instead of stories and charcters joining us on the train and taking over and making it exciting and fun, it was just a train ride with a stop to watch a little 3 man battle on the way out and back.)
