7 Months

UPDATE

Well apparently turning 7 months was Pipers clue to start pulling up on everything. I hate this stage! So many falls, so many tears, so many heart racing moments watching baby crash. She's super unstable and every time she does it my mama heart feels like it's going to leap through my chest. Especially when she pulls up the tv stand. But it's all about learning and she's doing great.
Piper is truly a doll. She is a pretty easy baby and yes the whole new stage of moving and grooving has started but still she isn't obsessed with stairs and plays with toys in one set area as long as mom is near she's content to stay. She mainly wants to pull herself up on the toy baskets and grab something inside, or crawl to where mom is. She will sit in our laps for fair amounts of time happily grabbing at your face. Sleeping is up and down I think we finally have a groove going but if things change it up for a day or two then I feel like we're back at square one and don't get me started on naps... she's by far the worst napper alive and yes, yes, yes mommy isn't very consistent, and pre-k pick-up doesn't help and well I'd rather just lazily nurse/nap her while I nap some days, so well naps suck.
In terms of size; she's in size 1 diapers and 3 month outfits and a few 3-6 month ones. She's a "peanut" according to every stranger we meet. And yes we are well aware. And the monthly weight visits to the doctor are oh so fun and end in "well she looks great and she's developing perfectly and she's growing just not as much as we'd like... let's see her in a month just to make sure." (Sigh sigh sigh).

LIKES

Morning feedings and smiles.
Crawling near and around where mom is.
She is completely and utterly smitten with FOOD! So that's a cure all. She loves baby food and does get table foods here and there but for the most part is enjoying baby cereal, applesauce pouches, puffs, and rice rusks regularly.
Pulling up on things shakily.
The johnny jump up, has been perfect for getting ready in the morning or on Sunday's she uses it upstairs in Mommy and Daddy's room and she is content in mostly but she loves when Sydney ignores mommy and gives her push so it becomes a little swing. Mommy isn't a fan no matter how much laughter it instills, it scares me!
Following the vacuum around. Or just finding it and playing on it...
When she's bored or being silly she blows raspberries, it's so awkward when it's at inappropriate times. But she loves doing it and getting someone to blow them back!
Listening to singing.

DISLIKES

Falling
Car seat and car rides
Baths
Naps in her crib
Going down for bed
Diaper changes are a wiggly, squirmy battle that mom totally hates! But Piper may think it's a game...
I HATE HER PINCHING WHILE NURSING DONT GET ME STARTED. It's making strongly consider weaning even though I'm trying SO hard to make the year mark.
She doesn't like playing rough at all! So when Sydney rolls around on her or she screams and won't be settled unless she's nursed.
She HATES getting blocked when moms not on the inside.

FAVORITES

Everyone loves her bald head and feeling her little peach fuzz on their lips as they rub her head and give her kisses.
Daddy loves that her smiles are getting bigger and more frequent! And he loves her peach fuzz for hair and keeps trying to convince me it's growing. Yesterday he said, "Wow Piper is starting to look so different... I think it's because of all her hair!" I about choked... considering she's still about as bald as can be.
I think Shea is a little sad that his magic back pats haven't been quite as effective on Piper but ever now and then he can still make it work on Piper. Which is always a victory.
Connor is our watch dog and is always watches out for danger and does great at protecting her and keeping her safe when pulling up on something or when getting into things.
Bella loves trying to get her to happy squeal!
Sydney loves to tell mom when Piper is crying she HATES to see her cry!
