Trick or Treat

I've heard "Trick or Treat" since September began.
Especially from Syd, which was fun because last year she was completely oblivious.
This year she was saying "Is it bTrick or Treat?" everyday for weeks.
Especially after we decorated a little. The kids love putting up the stickies on the windows.

We've been watching Halloween shows like mad and have enjoyed spooky music and worked on costumes (homemade ones, kind of) and even had a FALL FESTIVAL PARTY Amberlee hosted.

Our first taste of Halloween was the ward TRUNK OR TREAT! Which was seriously fun! The kids had so much fun, and they were still bursting with energy and laughter and sugar by the time we took them home. But zonked out on the ride home. And for anyone that refused to go to bed after getting the house they got to watch Arsenic and Old Lace with Mom and Dad.

Finally it was time to CARVE PUMPKINS the weekend before Halloween, which was a lot more fun for Con then the girls this time around.
But all in all they turned out great and we even got quite a few pumpkin seeds to roast! Mmmmm!

And ---Drumroll please--- HALLOWEEN!
This is the first time we have trick or treated in this development so Shea and I were very unsure the turn out or how successful trick or treating would be. Well it was awesome! BEST TRICK OR TREATING EVER! The kids had a blast and filled their buckets up and some (they had to grab grocery bags from a neighbor/ward member so they could keep going). It was a little chilly but the girls were champs and I was impressed Syd went just as long as Con and Bella. (I'm not sure why I was surprised she's been tlaking about it forever!)
Once everyone got home we had fun binging on candy and watching Hocus Pocus as we all fell asleep on the couch.

You + Me = Eternity

HAPPY 8th ANNIVERSARY BABE!
It's been 9 years of crushing on each other and it's been 8 years and one week and one day since kneeling at the alter. And I'm as sure as I was on our wedding day that you are my only one.
Sorry we had to wait a week to celebrate.
This year I feel like we have done more growing as a couple than ever before. You rock my world and I love you, now and FOREVER AND EVER!

While we ate and drove we played a couples quiz game which was so fun, it was just questions that we had to give the answer about the other. It made for a lot of laughs and fun and deep conversation that made it even more special, rather than spending the night talking about kids and work.
It's been 9 years since we met and I still love getting to know you more and more.

We exchanged gifts this year... HAHA we both picked out our own. TV for the bedroom for Shea and an Anniversary necklace for me via Etsy. After we exchanged gifts I asked the kids where their gifts for us were since this is basically the celebration of our family's sealed for eternity day!
Connor hung his head low and said "I forgot I was going to get you a chocolate bar and Dad a Reeses." Love you kid!
Sydney immeadiately ran to the bedroom closet grabbed a photo album I bought but never used and shouted "Happy Anniday I got you present!"
Shea and I melted and squeezed her and smooched her all up, which of course meant that the two oldest had to now do the same to save face this went on and on with them for the next ten minutes till Mom said that's enough presents from my closet thank you all!

FUN RUN

Connor had a FUN RUN at school that Amberlee and I got to go watch Connor RUN in. He had so much fun and had been talking about it for weeks and was SO excited. It was during school and everyone run. He gladly named his waterbottle and waved at us when he FINALLY spotted us.
He was so cute, stretching and dancing before the run started and we loved watching this little runner run and run!

Go Buddy Go!

He was even more excited when he brought home a Tuscarora Water Bottle that he got from the Fun Run. When I told him he got it because he ran so fast he lit up (He actually got it because we donated $40 to the PTA, because it was a PTA event to raise money). He hasn't done much without the water bottle since, as if it is a trophy and a declaration of his victory.

Pumpkins

We enjoyed searching for a perfect family pumpkin at Mayne's Tree Farm this week.
We also had fun pretending to drive tractors, playing in hay, going on a hayride, going on wagon rides with Daddy and finding Pumpkin favorites!

Daddy said this was too dangerous... Mommy didn't listen!
No worries everyone's safe and
Daddy loves Mommy eventhough she doesn't listen.
