37 Weeks

Me and babe have reached the full term mark. Meaning Sydney is officially considered a full-term baby, even with three weeks to go. That doesn't mean she's finished growing — in fact, she's still packing on about a half pound a week.

At my Dr's visit this week I was checked again and was at 2 cm and 50% effaced, so no progress at all. It was kind of bittersweet hearing that news. Considering I am not ready for baby Sydney's grand arrival quite yet, but no progress is always a little frustrating. It is nice to think you are getting a bit closer each week. Especially since she has dropped and I've been SO uncomfortable and some days are just plain painful. But other then a lack of sleep I am doing really well.

The biggest news at this appt was my Group B Strep Test results. Unfortunately for me and baby I tested positive for the Group B Strep Infection. After the scare the nurse gave us about it (we knew nothing), the Dr eased some of our fears and then Shea went home and did tons of research and we are now not too worried. As a health precaution for baby they will want me to get antibiotics 4 hrs prior to delivery. Our Dr did also asked us about inducement at 39 weeks, letting us know that this would be ideal for delivery considering I would have ample time to provide baby with the antibiotics they need via an IV. I don't have any objections so it is very likely our baby will be born in April, since I turn 39 weeks at the end of the month on April 28th.

Baby is moving lots and I am feeling her hiccups every now and then lately. I often have to change positions to get her into a more comfortable one. For the most part though there is simply no room and my stomach is just rock hard solid, and to be honest pretty sensitive to the touch (well any pressing touches). I have to be careful around the kids making sure they are soft and remember baby is in Mommy's belly. It is fun to think we are getting so close to meeting this new little miracle.
