SYDNEY TURNS 5

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SYDNEY!
Sydney is OFFICIALLY FIVE!
We celebrated her birthday earlier this month with Mermaids, Cupcakes, and Deep Sea Fun!
Sydney is my creative, wild child! She has a confidence in all she does and dives into it with her all. She has such a BIG personality at home or within her own; and then around strangers she gets so shy (thumb in mouth and hand in Moms) it makes me laugh so hard because it’s just so not her. She loves her siblings fiercely and we find ourselves reminding them of that quite frequently. She takes great joy in making others happy and she rarely doesn’t have a smile on her face; albeit half the time it’s a mischievous one (Dads so proud of that trickster side...). Love watching this beautiful girl grow!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SYD!

Perfect End to the Night
Since we celebrated early this month we couldn't help but celebrating this happy child again on the actual day, with birthday waffles and the new goosebumps movie (she loves scary movies because they make her belly dance and it’s a party).

Just another Sunday

I have a goal of actually taking Sunday Family Photos or something but usually its just the sweet moments I randomly capture...
Like Brother doing I SPY with his Sister
And Sister with her arm around him.

Not sure if I SPY is church approved but it is a serious favorite in our row at church...
so no judging.

South Mountain Creamery

We stole Uncle Joe for the day and visited South Mountain Creamery.
It's the kids spring break, and they've been begging to go.
We enjoyed some fresh ice cream.
Played in the rocks.
Fed the baby cows, as promised months ago.
Watched the "Mama's" get milked.
And said goodbye to the cows till next time.

{this moment}

When the big kids are out (at a sleepover), you play.
And realize you really are the favorite child, and Daddy can't help but spoil you.

With a few kisses  and the best pouty face ever you have Daddy wrapped around your finger. And you know it. I won't lie it makes me a little crazy, I don't always like it when Daddy gives in and lets you sneak in our bed or when you come over with a little fat lip to ask for a treat and Dad gives you one just because your cute. You sure have your ways little girl. I do think though that times are about to change a bit with a new little one on the way. You, I know, may feel a change in the order of things once baby arrives. But for some reason I think your going to always be "Daddy's little girl" more so then Syd or Bell. You two have this cute winking thing and you are Daddy's biggest snuggler so maybe that is why you always seem to get your way with Daddy (you know the secret)!

DC Cherry Blossums

One weekend we decided to join the Martin's and walk along the tidal basin in DC, enjoying the Cherry Blossoms.
Sydney of course was playing in dirt and throwing rocks in the water.
Connor was sticking his tongue out and kicking things mostly.
Bella was modeling and being a bit moody, as is the norm.
Piper was just plain happy.

We saw the Jefferson and Washington Memorial, taking the chance to expose the kids to this amazing history while we are east side is something I try not to miss out on.
(Of course the history of it all was lost in the awe of the big tidal basin and the massive stairs.)

Uncle Joe

Anutie Am and Uncle Joe

Of course as we ended a marathon was beginning and we had to make a mad dash across it to get to our car. So that was an experience to remember; with a stroller, pregnant mama, 4 children (one sleeping), and about one second intervals to make it across. Shea and I both made it though! Shea having to go back and forth a few time. But secretly I think he loved all the craziness of it! He overheard some teenagers trying to record us, in an effort to youtube our epic wipe outs I'm all too sure.

It was a gorgeous morning of cherry blossoms and basking in the beauty of the city.
