Another Year Down

HAPPY 29th to me!

It seems to be a tradition of mine to go bowling on my birthday so of course we did that.
I am definitely a creature of habit.

To celebrate my birthday this year I decided to have crabs and for the first time right from the shell.
I had planned to go last year but we were rained out.
This year it was perfect weather for their outdoor restaurant and we all had a lot of fun.
I was so proud of the kids for being... okay well they were okay. Bella even tried some and liked it she said, although she gets caught up in the hype so I am not sure her true feelings but she was such a sweetheart.
Syd gave us a few chase scares per the norm lately.
And Connor was picky as usual. But he did want to try shucking the crabs.
It was such a fun activity and first timer for all of us, except maybe my parents.
While we live in Maryland I have this ticking clock in my head that says do it all, enjoy it and experience it all so that when we leave one day in the future there are no regrets.
So I love being able to use birthdays and such as chances to check my little Maryland/East Coast Bucket list items off.

And Ed's Chocolate Cheesecake with Ganache did not disappoint. It is making my mouth water as we speak.

One of my favorite parts about my birthday is eating cake the next few days for breakfast and NOT sharing! Mmmmm!

Happy Father's Day 2017

So I wanted Shea's Father's Day to be as good as my Mother's Day so I grilled Shea for what he wanted to do.
And his requests were nothing, I want to have a weekend where I do nothing!
And on Sunday grill massive steaks for everybody.
So we did it.
And as hard as it was for me to just not really celebrate much, we gave him exactly what he wanted and he LOVED it.
He told me this was the best Father's Day yet!

His big gift was the GRILL which was a long time coming!
And look at those massive steaks...

He invited my whole family over too so they could all join us for dinner and the two fathers got the massive Ribeyes.

And Shea's favorite momento from Father's Day is Sydney's hands she made in nursery!
(I'll try not to be offended that it isn't the Best Dad pages the kids all made.)

Love, Sydney

School's Out

Last Day of School...
It was a half day and we celebrated with Popsicles right when Connor got home!

When Dad got home we had an early dinner actually eating INSIDE McDonalds.

Lucky us it was Kids Night; they got cookies to decorate and balloons and coloring books.

And then the next day we had our annual Summer Party with the Martins, where we played in the sun and sprinklers and had yummy watermelon and snacks!

The heat was too much for Syd and after a good time playing she was the first to want some a/c relief.
Piper loved watching everybody and gave everyone a good laugh until she accidentally wandered in the sprinklers and got a not so happy surprise.
Connor had a ton of fun trying to jump and show off his sprinkler skills.
Bella was the last to come in, she just loves playing outside and honestly is usually the last of any outdoor activity!

It was a great way to start the Summer!

Strawberry Pickin'

We went to our favorite farm, Mayne's Farm, and had a day of Strawberry Picking and even though it was HOT!
We loved it and even tried a few and they were DELICIOUS!

We enjoyed our pickings later that night with Strawberry Shortcakes!
