So we decided to try our friend, Duct Tape. That's right!
We got it originally for Duct Taping his changing pad. With a little wear it started to have tiny tears and Connor, being the destructive miscreant he is, decided to tear the changing pad apart and eat the inside stuffing. I know it sounds insane, but I caught Connor working hard away at the changing pad several times before Duck Tape came to the rescue.
So our Kitchen got a Duck Tape makeover. It works for most of the cabinets, but sadly the drawers have been an utter failure. He just pulls hard enough to get the Duct Tape free. So our drawers are commonly ransacked. Fortunately nothing dangerous resides in them or we would be a little more worried.
Our latest Duct Tape use is on his high chair. He can pull the "Dishwasher Safe Tray" off the top and throw it when he decides meal time is play time. It is slightly annoying to have food splattered all over your apartment on an hourly basis. So after a Duct Taping it is now "Connor-Proof"!
Just the other day, things were hectic and after a bath I threw a diaper on him and started getting myself ready. Connor loved running around in only a diaper. But after two minutes of silence and a scream-laugh combo I decided I better search for my mischief maker. And there he was in his bedroom running around with NO diaper on, ready to be chased as soon as he saw me. This was the only time this has happened as of now, but I have heard some parents say this is a huge problem. Fortunately if Connor is fully clothed, like normal he is uninterested in the diaper underneath. But it seems if this does become a problem, Duct Tape can solve this too...

haha! loved this post kay-marie :) Duct tape is pretty amazing...at our family reunion this summer my niece made duct tape purses!! (solely from duct tape...they even created flowers and ruffles with it to add some pizazz!:)
ReplyDeleteand about the kitchen...Brooks is all about pulling out big mixing bowls and using wooden spoons and spatulas...he creates his own little drum set ;) We haven't technically baby-proofed the whole house either...and I'm okay with that :)
I'm so glad I can keep up with you and your sweet, growing family!
xo, Haley
PS - the photos of your wedding (at the very bottom of your blog) are gorgeous!! You looked absolutely lovely :)
That was a very amusing post to read, very funny. The funniest thing of all is it that 3 days ago, my brother in-law duct taped my nephews diaper on because he takes it off all the time even when he has pants on. Aubrey has recently began this number as well. Because she is being potty trained, I let her run around a lot naked when we are at home. However, the other day was very inconvenient and embarrassing when we decided to have the missionaries over for dinner. She consistently kept taking it off so finally we just put undies on, but those kept coming off too. I could certainly tell that the one missionary in particular was very embarrassed and had his share of little toddler girl potty parts.
