When Daddy Comes Home

Connor has started smiling more and more, it is definitely the cutest smile in the world. If we really get him going he will scrunch up his nose and his mouth, he will get a huge open mouthed grin as if he is going to laugh. It is darling! I love it!

When Shea gets home from work, around four o'clock right now, Shea will call out "Where's Connor? Where's my little man?" And what do you know Connor will just grin from ear to ear! Just hearing his voice.

Today Connor has a cold, which I thought was gone but has popped back up much worse than before. I called the Doctor because I am so sad for my little boy and want to help him so bad. It kills me to see him cry in frustration because his nose is too stuffed up to eat, or because it hurts to cough with all that congestion. The Doctor just called it newborn congestion that springs up every now and then in his first few months of life. So she just told me to watch for a fever and give him saline drops before sleeping and eating, followed by a good sucking out of his nose by the dreaded bulb syringe. That thing just makes him scream and scream, I hate it. So he has been having a rough time and I am hoping tomorrow will be better. Even though he is sick, he is still so good, just sleeping a lot in his swing. I am so thankful for that sweet and calm composure he has. Anyway Shea came home from work and started calling for his little man, and I was holding him and thinking, "Poor kid he is too sick to smile and play with Daddy", but what do you know his face just lit up as big as ever. I was feeding him at the time and he just turned away looking for Daddy to come to him. It almost made me cry to see his face so happy, despite how awful he's feeling.

I just can't express the love I have for this little guy and for his Daddy! The first time he smiled in response to Shea's arrival Shea and I just held him and stared and laughed and played with him for over an hour, just itching for more and more smiles, he even laughed- more of a squeal if you heard it- but it was a definitely a laugh.

Everything is so new to us with Connor, and every little thing he does we can't help but brag about to the world. So if your thinking YES Connor is THE CUTEST KID EVER we AGREE! We love him so much and every time we see his little smile as he is looking right at us we just flood up inside with how happy we are to have him here!
