We all had a blast! I was right the kids had the best time ever!
I went with a fox/woodland theme considering that is just the theme I love for our Dean. He has quite a few foxy type things. I am already planning the woodland room he will share with his brother, which is still many months out.
We played a few traditional baby shower games like:
Guess the baby food?
Dirty Diapers, Of course this was a hit the kids they laughed through the whole game!
Guess how many baby socks are in the jar! (Then the kids had to make all the pairs and count them up!)
WHO'S WHO?
Right when I decided to do a Baby Shower with the kids I wanted to use baby pictures of them and have them guess who was who. Of course it was all the better throwing Dean in there too. So they could all see how he resembles each of them, even if it was just in the pose. Shea and I had a baby picture thrown in there too just for fun. I left this up forever because it was just too much fun not too.
It also worked out perfectly to finish up the kids Baby Books in a Slide Show form. (I still didn't have the time or energy to figure out the whole printing battle but Shea and I both want one more baby so I decided I'll just print them next time around in hardcover forms.) For now though we presented them at the Baby Shower and the kids loved all the attention and fun getting to see their book/pictures; Shea even found a song to go with each child as the background music.
My family surprised us with a gift, even though they already had bought us a new stroller!
I feel beyond grateful to have family that is behind us on our big family adventure, that love and support us and appreciate the great blessing families are. Dean is our rainbow baby and after losing two pregnancies before him I had all but given up. Heavenly Father has a plan and in little moments like these, as we celebrate our fifth, I am reminded that Heavenly Father loves us and knows what is best and will make it so.
We are abundantly blessed and as much as Shea and I want to have one last baby join our family we don't know the Lord's plan. I have grown in so many ways this last year and our family is stronger for it. We know more than ever the miracle of these little babies and this little baby of ours is going to be so cherished as he heals us in ways we never thought we could be healed.
