No Pain No Gain

After a Sunday of Church prep; baths, shirts, ties, dresses shoes, breakfast, and running out the door ...
Church began as quickly as it ended that day.

Accompanied by a stranger shutting the door, slammed fingers, a screaming 4 year old, a brother dragging his feet and us all sitting in the car as (loving but overly worried) Daddy took Bella to Urgent Care.

Fortunately it was superficial for the most part, but still very painful. Bella was very brave!

After a couple x-rays to make sure she didn't disturb any growth plates by yanking out her slammed fingers from the door, it was determined she would only lose her fingernails.

After their all cleaned up...
A few weeks later the doctor checked them and told us to keep up the band-aids and warned us that her nails (which were both almost fully detached) will come off and she will only be left with sensitive nail beds until the new nails come in, which could take a couple months.

About a week later her first fingernail came off with the help of a particularly determined band-aid. But the band-aids protect her bare nail bed, till her new pretty nails come in!

She's so excited for her new nails!

So just call her the Band-Aid Princess, because lets face it No Pain, No Gain!
