Sydney is growing bigger and stronger (trying her best to sit up), and all the sweeter. We are all in love with our Sydney Bean! 4 Months has quickly gone and now she's just barely turned 5 Mons.
Her eyes are dark and bluish in color. She is still wearing 0-3 month clothing, although some are getting a little tight but all her 3 month clothing she is rocking. Diapers are still size 1. Sydney has proved that although she is our best sleeper by far (sleeping spans of 8 hrs every night), she is also our worst spitter upper. I am still supplementing with formula, currently she is getting anywhere from 8-16 oz of formula a day (this is fairly new it used to be 8-12 oz). Her nails are growing but to be honest she rarely scratches herself and her nails usually break so I don't often clip them. The pacifier is still her friend sometimes but for the most time its a game of hit or miss. She enjoys sucking on her fingers and OH BOY her thumb, sometimes preferring them to her pacifier. She can also bring objects to her mouth clumsily; primarily binky, toes, or toys.
Approximately Weighing 11 lbs. (?)
SYDNEY LOVES ATTENTION! Just like any child she is happiest and most chatty when she has your undivided attention and affection.
She is fascinated by the vacuum and almost always it is soothing to her instantly
She LOVES baths with her best friends, Connor and Bella. They are just so hilarious it is a nonstop giggle fest.
Her soft Aden and Anais blankets. She loves to snuggle with them and suck on them, ESPECIALLY when she is tired.
Her favorite lullaby is "Hushabye Mountain" usually sung by Dick Van Dyke via youtube. We are Chitty Chitty Bang Bang fans!
She is having an increased love of toys, especially Connor's first baby toy, a little frog that vibrates when pulled on.
DISLIKES
Hates the car. Sydney is starting to not even like being in the car seat because she knows what comes after being buckled up.
The swing and her are at odds. The only time it brings her anything but screams is if she is too tired to fight it.
She does NOT like being left alone. She has that beloved Mommy alarm and when Mommy gets a certain distance she wails. Even is she is perfectly calm moments before.
She HATES getting hot and sweaty, so nursing with a blanket gets infuriating sometimes for her.
FAVORITES
Daddy loves being able to get giggles and smiles out of her, with his funny faces!
We love seeing her roll over and inch forward, although mobility is a little scary for Mommy.
I love her baby breath and pressing sweet kisses to her soft little lips.
Daddy is obsessed with her quiet little snore that comes and goes when she sleeps.
I love that she is getting a little more Mommy and Daddyish. I call it the Mommy Bug. Because she fusses to get to Mommy and then calms. I kinda love the beginning of this stage, even though I know it gets a tad frustrating as times goes on and your stuck with baby on hip ALL the time!
I almost forgot her newest and most beloved obsession is her FEET! She loves holding and sucking and staring and anything feet related. And I will admit I don't blame her she does have the sweetest feet ever :)
SIBLINGS
Connor is more obsessed then ever with his sister. He is constantly telling me about Sydney or asking to do something with her ("hold her", "feed her"). He loves her SO much. He likes to tell me how pretty or cute she is. Sometimes his love for her is a little too much, but he is so good about it even if I have to remind him "Do you think that is too much?" And my most favorite thing in the world is listening to him sing to her. When she is crying he rarely complains, but sometimes his songs get a little more urgent :)
Bella likes to do what brother does, sometimes. So we catch her asking to hold her or singing to her here and there. She likes to tickle her or point out when Sydney is being "funny funny". But overall adjusting from youngest to the middle child has its ups and downs. Bella doesn't quite get all the baby "things", so she tends to complain a little more and need a little more space. When I do see her snuggling with Sydney or kissing her it is all the sweeter. Fortunately she is very careful and sweet even when Sydney is loud or pulling her hair, she just sneaks away or whispers "I'm done". I love both my girls.
