UPDATE
On her 6 week birthday we weighed her in at approximately 8.8 lbs. Sydney has dark bluish gray eyes, as most newborns do. Her hair is still dark, although it may be thinning a little, as she rubs her head this way and that while she lays down. She has a double cowlick up front and a swirl. She struggles with a little baby acne, every now and then. Her skin tone is a lot like Daddy's, with a reddish undertone.
Sydney takes the pacifier well, unless she is really hungry. She has to be in the mood for the swing, which is a shame because for our other two the swing seemed to be the cure-all. She is still in newborn diapers and newborn clothes, mostly. To be honest newborn sizes are a little smaller and 0-3 months are too big so were rockin the annoying in between stage. Most days she wears a sleeper, unless were showing her off :)
Sydney isn't a huge fan of hiccups, but who is really?
Sydney nurses well and takes the bottle too, which is a huge help for me. Having options for feeding gives me a little breathing room. Unfortunately, she is a spitter upper. Which means when she takes formula it is GROSS! She seems to have tummy issues like her sister did. So she enjoys the football hold the most. When she is on her tummy, she fusses for a minute and then falls asleep. We use tummy time to cure her fits sometimes. Sometimes it even works ;)
As I mentioned tummy time.
Her baby gym, when she's in the mood.
She loves to stare at lights or the windows.
Being held, she enjoys the warm arms
Daddy's butt pats.
Baths, until the soap comes in.
She's still young so she doesn't get out much, but when she does she loves staring off and observing the world around her.
The pacifier. Thank goodness! (We finally have a baby that takes it, YAY!)
She LOVES scrunching up in the fetal position, while laying on your chest.
Car rides.
DISLIKES
Bright lights, that wake her when she is sleeping.
Being cold, between clothing changes.
She hates being stretched out, especially when we try to clean out her hands.
Mommy tries to help her tummy with belly massages but she isn't much of a fan.
Upset tummy.
Too much loving, from Sister and Brother.
FAVORITES
Shea couldn't wait to give our Sydney Mae a whole set of nicknames. So far we have "Syd the Kid", "Sydney Maeter", "Maeter Stinkanater", and our favorite "SYDNEY BEAN".
Sydney stares at faces now, occasionally, and follows people with her eyes. We always feel special when we get Sydney attention!
I LOVE her smiles, I like to think they are real smiles now. But I am not too confident that they are quite yet.
Shea loves spoiling her with blankets and towels warmed in the dryer, so he can get extra cuddles.
Her sweet newborn breath, still brings me back to the first few days of life.
We all love watching her sleep. Peaceful and pulling off the most adorable sleepy faces, as she drifts in and out of dreamland.
Bella enjoys giving her kisses and holding her occasionally.
They both love playing with her baby gym, when she is in it (cuddling up next to her) or when she isn't ;)
When they get the chance they enjoy helping to feed her the bottle, for about two seconds then they are done.
Bella likes pretending she is Sydney. Crying like "baby", or sitting in her car seat.
Both kids like to tell me when Sydney is crying,
"Mom, baby Syndey, needs you!" -Connor
"Baby cryin" -Bella
I love their love for BABY SYDNEY!
