2 MONTHS

2.5 Months

UPDATE
Sydney had her 2 month check up at the doctors, right after her 2 month birthday. She received  3 combination shots, 6 vaccines. And with the help of a little infant Tylenol she was just fine. A little more tired and cranky then normal but not too bad.
HEIGHT: 22 INCHES (31%)
WEIGHT: 8.3 LBS (3%)
Sydney's dark hair is thinning some from turning her head back and forth. Since Sydney is such a good sleeper she has a little spot on the back of her head that is a little flat, so were trying to be good about tummy time and such. She has deep blue/gray eyes, they look so dark I wonder if they will turn brown or if she will keep her deep blue color. I guess we will have to wait a few more months.
"When your baby’s eye color changes:
The most dramatic changes will probably occur when your child is between the ages of six months old and nine months old. By that point, the iris has stashed enough pigment so you’ll be able to better predict what the final hue will be. But even so, your baby’s eye color may still hold some surprises — you may continue to notice subtle eye color changes (green eyes slowly turning hazel, say, or hazel ones deepening into brown) until she’s three (just don’t expect baby browns to revert back to blue — dark eyes tend to stay dark for most babies). And in about ten percent of people, eye color can continue to change even into adulthood."  (whattoexpect.com)
Sydney is in size 1 diapers. She wears 0-3 month clothing for the most part, she is to tall for most NB clothes. I thought Sydney was done with swaddling but, I started swaddling her at night since she was going through a fussy phase (since our A/C was broken and she was hot) and although she was fussy during the day she slept all the way through the night. I think she figured out nights and days really well during this time and now every night I swaddle her -arms included- she sleeps till 6-8 am. It is marvelous! From 8-9 pm she cluster feeds and I also give her a 4 oz bottle of formula, then she is out till morning and wakes up very hungry and usually goes back to sleep for an hour sometimes in her own bed and sometimes in mine (this is the only time she is allowed in our bed).
In general Sydney still spits up regularly, she doesn't mind it much though and it is usually not too much when she does. She is doing better with the swing here and there. She isn't quite ready for the bumbo yet,we can't wait.
For her first Sunday at church (after her two month mark), she did great at church with the pacifier to calm and lull her to sleep. She enjoyed all the music and every time the hymns started she would doze off and awake when they ended, which made me wish hymns were longer.

LIKES
Of course Sydney loves the whole eating and sleeping routine.
Sydney likes to bring her hands to her mouth for the occasional sucking.
She is a pacifier taker,Yay!
When she is in the mood she enjoys her baby gym, and watching herself in the mirror.
She loves all the attention she gets, and returns all that attention with the sweetest smiles in the world!
She likes to exercise her legs lots, with kicking and standing. On her tummy she even scoots a little with her legs.
Sydney likes being rocked and is a fan of movement especially when she is upset.
She loves new places and observing the big wide world.
She likes to be held high in the air.

DISLIKES
Sydney doesn't like to be overheated, so Mommy is trying to remember to not over dress her. (She is not really a sweaty kid so it is harder to tell she is hot).
She isn't huge fan of bath time, although most of the she puts up with it fairly well.
Sydney doesn't really like to be changed, but what baby does?

FAVORITES
Shea and I are in love with her new found coo's, she just started and they are our absolute favorite thing to hear.
Holding her hands as she grasps on tight.
Obviously we all beg for her smiles constantly we can't get enough of them.
And who can resist giving her soft new baby skin kisses.
Snuggling with her as she falls into dreamland.
We love watching her stand as she holds onto our fingertips and then slowly get lower and lower before she gives up.
When she is swaddled up she looks like a little caterpillar, so cute.
Of course I am in love with her sleeping through the night skills.
The sweet smell of her baby breath and baby skin is one of my all time favorites.

SIBLINGS
Her brother and sister love her SO much. Mommy has to help contain all their love sometimes. They think it is hilarious when she does anything with a toy, whether grasp or touch it. Connor especially can't wait for her to play! Bella is very good about telling me anytime she hears Sydney crying. Connor asks to hold Sydney daily and constantly squishes her with his kisses and hugs and squeezes and lovin. He can't get enough of her smiles and pouty lips, which results in wild faces to get her grinning and loud "BOO"'s or growling to get her scared. Bella is a little more tame and slightly more weird she would rather sniff and lick her every now and then, don't ask me why. Maybe it has something to do with her puppy obsession?

Happy Daddy Day!

I was such a little Daddy's girl. Daddy went everywhere with me, whether it be field trips, girl scouts, or shopping. I know my Daddy wished it would have lasted longer. But I love those little memories of when I was small and had only eyes for Daddy.

I see those same bright eyes in my children now as they watch and follow Daddy, wanting and wishing they could mimic his every step. I love watching this Daddy as he becomes a playmate, teacher, tickler, snuggler, or a knight in shining armor. He sure was meant for this Daddy job! And my love for him grows and grows as I marvel at his supreme Daddy abilities.

I love Shea. And I am enormously grateful for the love he has for fatherhood. Watching him as a father makes me just plain happy. I mean how could it not?

I know he enjoyed his spoils on his Daddy Day!

AND SHE SMILES

7 Weeks

Our Sydney has turned on her smiles for the last week or so, only here and there, and just recently she has started bursting at the seams with them. We adore seeing each and every grin on her little face!

CALLING ALL HEROES

We celebrated Connor's 4th birthday, Saturday, June 7th!
With a SUPERHERO party AND some extra special surprises just for our SUPER CONNOR MAN!

Connor was so excited by all the decorations Grandma Stanger set up.

Connor's first surprise was BATMAN!
Although BATMAN was much scarier in person.
Both Connor and Bella were more than a bit scared.
Poor kids.
Fortunately, Daddy talked Connor into being very brave.
So Connor bravely posed for pictures.

Bella on the other hand sat far away and screamed if Batman got too close.
The corner of the couch was her favorite spot to watch within a safe distance.

Then Connor got to blow out candles a few times (his favorite party part).
Bella even joined in too.
His BLUE cake, made by Grandma Stanger, was quite a hit.

At the beginning of the week when I asked Connor what he wanted for his birthday his only requests were a BLUE CAKE and a BIG GIANT LASER GUN!
Fortunately, for him both his requests were filled.
Presents not only included his LASER GUN, but the LEGO BATMAN MOVIE, a spider man sleeping bag, batman book bag and drawing book, the operation game, action figures, new clothes, and more.
YEP he got SPOILED!

We then had to say our BATMAN goodbyes.
While holding on TIGHT to Daddy for support.
As BATMAN left Connor shouted "Bye bye Batman, don't let the Joker catch you!"

Connor's BIG SURPRISE was an outdoor blow up pool.
He was more than ready to JUMP right in.

Bella on the other hand was shivering and not too into the pool and wind and water.

Connor ended the night at home snuggled up with his sister in his brand new birthday present.
With his LASER GUN not too far.

Happy Happy Birthday, CONNOR MAN!

Amberlee said it best:
