Declared Genius!

Shea just deemed me a genius.

He works out  in the sun/wind everyday and gets bad sun burn and wind burn.

He came home today and was so dry, so we put some Aloe Vera moisturizer on the burns.

Immediately they started itching so bad.

Shea's "Achilles Heel" = Itching. He cannot take it. Waiting for the itching to subside is torture and nothing was making it go away.

I suggested an ice pack.

My Mom used to always have us put ice packs on itchy bug bites, so we wouldn't tear them open by itching them so much.

Anyway the end result was a very happy man. He was so surprised when I told him to put ice on it. When it worked he was like "WOW, YOU ARE A GENIUS!". It made him feel so much better. It took the edge off the itching and cooled down the burn. Problem Solved!

SO ... Thanks Mom for making me a genius too!

Connor is going to have a ...

SISTER!

(We think!)
She doesn't seem to like the camera, she shielded her face
with her fists.
Baby's hands were by the face the whole time, and legs up
Baby was very shy. Her legs were closed the whole time, she was asleep and refused to change position. So the pictures are no where near as good as Connor's were. Most of them are blurred (due to my anterior placenta) and hard to decipher. So the shots we got weren't the best so it is recommended we do a Gender Check Ultrasound next appt. So we will have another peek at baby at 24 weeks. For now though doctor recommends we call baby a girl!

WE ARE THRILLED! WE BOUGHT A NEWBORN DRESS TO HONOR THE OCCASION!
IT IS ADORABLE AND I CAN'T STOP LOOKING AT IT!

Doctor Appointment Update
Baby:
13 ounces
Ultrasound results were all good, all five fingers and toes... Check!
Measuring perfectly
Due date matched my previous date of November 5th

Mommy:
Lucky me with this pregnancy I have an anterior placenta.
I looked it up and ...
The term "anterior placenta" refers to the location of the placenta within your uterus. Most of the time, a fertilized egg will situate itself in the posterior uterus — the part closest to your spine, which is where the placenta eventually develops, too. Sometimes, though, the egg implants on the opposite side of the uterus, closest to your abdomen. When the placenta develops, it grows on the front (or anterior) side of your uterus, with the baby behind it.
Which explains why I haven't been able to feel my baby's movement much (because the placenta serves as a cushion between baby and my tummy). The doctor also warned me it is a bit harder to hear fetal heart sounds, which may be cause for additional ultrasounds. I am also showing less this pregnancy due to the anterior placenta. Most people don't know I am pregnant even, partly due to the fact that I wear lose shirts most of the time anyway.
But the good news is that, despite slight inconveniencies, an anterior placenta in and of itself poses no risk to your health.
Sometimes anterior placenta pregnancies turn into high-risk pregnancies. But this is rare and with my good delivery/pregnancy last time nothing is anticipated. Doctor is not worried so neither am I. But it is good to be informed.

OVERALL: Baby and Mommy are healthy and doing great!

Stanger Addition

It seems like I have had the flu for months now, no worries the Doctor says it should clear up in November!

A picture says it all...

This spring... has been an adventure.  I have taken time off from everyday life to spend time with my new best friends, exhaustion and nausea.  That's right...

We are expecting BABY #2!!!!!
I am 20 weeks pregnant! I am due November 5th. What a wonderful surprise it has all been. We have loved every moment with our Con boy and can’t wait to fill our lives with another child to love and adore. We find out baby 2’s gender this week. It is an exciting time. We can't wait for this new addition to the family!

Things are getting a little HAIRY!

I decided to give Connor some pasta dinner in the highchair and RUN and take a two minute shower while he ate. I came out and Connor had pasta-hair! He had strained the pasta through his hair. Making it stand up, as if he had gelled it.
So after cleaning off my boy's face, hands, and legs. He got to run around like this, before his bath!

I have undergone a little hair makeover. New hairdo. From long hair to short hair and bangs. And let me tell you at first I was in shock. But I am liking it more and more. I love how quick it is. This is a sneak peak of the hair, blow dried and not styled. I kind of like it messy more than all neat and straightened. I have yet to try it curled.

A Crime has been Committed

That's right Connor is a Shoe Trapping Deviant! He sneaks in the closet or to the shoes by the door and hides pointy, hard objects in Daddy's shoes. Daddy does not enjoy getting caught by Connor's shoe traps. It is usually very painful and unexpected. Giggles and hugs usually follow. But this CRIME must be stopped. Keep your eyes peeled for the infamous "CON MAN"!

ONE BIRTHDAY BOY and A VISIT TO THE DOCTOR!

When did this happen? When did my baby go from ...
THIS
TO THIS!

I guess it had something to do with the past 12 months!

Connor turned 1 on Friday, June 3rd! We had a little cake, two little parties (one Shea's parents threw and then one of our own), and presents! Connor got his long awaited highchair and has a new bed! He also got some adorable clothes and some ridiculously laughter inspiring toys! He loved his birthday!

JUNE 8TH
DOCTOR CHECK-UP

Weight: 23 lbs 8 oz (84th percentile)
Height: 29.5 inches (34th percentile)

Our doctor adventure went a little something like this...
Daddy had to work so it was all Mommy. It rained on the way over and Mommy hates driving, especially in the rain. Connor didn't take a good nap, which made for one fussy baby waiting at the doctor. I couldn't let Connor down in the room because he wanted to get into everything, so he insisted on throwing a fit. Then the doctor pocked and prodded Connor to check on his ears, heart, weight, height, temperature, and blood pressure. Then it was time for the true pain. Connor had to get 5 shots. Since he is a big boy they had one male nurse come to hold his legs while the two others put the shots in his thighs and I held his arms. And boy oh boy there were tears and snuggles. It didn't help that his poor legs kept bleeding and the band-aids wouldn't stay on. But at the end of the visit he got a lollipop, Connor's first lollipop which stopped all the crying immediately. And then we came home and Connor got de-stickied. We got all cuddled up and he got all medicated. Finally a looooooooong nap ensued for both Connor and Mommy.

FYI: Daddy is coming next time!

Driving in the rain to the Doctor, he loved

Just Mommy and Connor this time
