18 Months

Well August was her official 18 Month Milestone, so this is a little belated.

I have officially declared PIPER our hardest baby yet, but that doesn't mean much since we have been a bit spoiled. But I have high hopes that toddlerhood will be much better.

Piper doesn't sleep the best considering she is our LIGHTEST SLEEPER of the bunch, I used to think Bella was a light sleeper HA! Piper wakes if you open the door or sometimes she can just hear you on the steps. But she is fairly good about crying for a bit and going back to sleep, but then some days she cries for too long and we grab her because we just can't take those sweet tired cries. But it is a catch 22 because she HATES TO SNUGGLE so she rarely will just fall asleep with you. But Daddy is sure trying hard to change that. She also has battled HIGH FEVERS throughout her babyhood and she is the first we have really had to worry about fevers for. Some being as high as 103 degrees. But thank goodness everything has always been just fine. She also gets terrible ECZEMA and screams when its touched or we put cream on it. Bella had sensitive skin which was more wide spread but she never really complained. Piper also has really struggled because of her sensitive skin with diapers. She has had the worst DIAPER RASHES ever! And seems to be allergic to diaper cream, and we can only use pampers swaddlers or she will break out hardcore. She HATES BATHS. I am hoping that Sydney can help her see how fun they can be. Piper is the PICKIEST baby eater ever. ALL my other babies just ate whatever and didn't really develop pickiness till much later. Maybe we will get lucky and she will get better not worse with food. And have I mentioned yet on here that we had to go to an allergist and she was diagnosed with an EGG ALLERGY which is a little scary for me since I know nothing about food allergies. She also is not the all smiles girl like a few of the other kids have been, usually she just gives the STINK EYE to everyone even me half the time. In all reality this just makes us laugh! The worst is her NOSE I feel awful because I can never tell when she is sick because she has had a runny nose for 80% of her life and I have no clue why!?! I've asked the DR ... allergies??? I feel so sad for her raw little nose and all the snot that gets on everything is a little annoying.

I don't know what it is about her but I have this special spot for her through it all, a patience I wish I had more of with the other kids and more calm and understanding.

Now all that being said Piper is awesome! She melts me. She just has this UNBELIEVABLE little spirit that makes her want to run over and run her cheek against yours, or sit in your lap out of the blue and rub your head. And those smiles and laughs that aren't too common they are SO SPECIAL when you get them or when she just has a day where she is all happy! She also cracks us up with all her EXPRESSIONS and and DANCE MOVES and she loves WATCHING us laugh. She loves to have her bald head brushed which I find absolutely adorable and everyone loves to do it for her. She wants to be a big HELPER already and tries so hard to be ONE OF THE BIG KIDS. Piper rarely cries when she falls or stumbles she just gets back up and tries harder. She rarely gets discouraged, because she is so DETERMINED.

Being a baby has been a bit tough for Piper but I can see her toddlerhood ahead is going to be quite the fun journey as we get to see her personality bloom in all the best ways!

That furrowed brow gets me everytime!

First Day

The kids got to wait till September this year to start school!
Connor started first and since Kindergarten had staggered start Bella had a off again on again schedule for the first week. Which was SO hard for our BEGGING to start school girl.

Connor has 2nd Grade with Mrs. Silvey who has an experimental classroom with bouncy call chairs a canoe reading corner and bean bags everywhere. It looks very fun but kinda crazy!
I'm hoping it is the perfect fit for this boy and did I mention her class is almost ALL wild boys.
Yeah WOW!

Bella has Kindergarten with Mrs. Burroughs (Connor's Kindergarten teacher too).
I had mentioned to Mrs Burroughs last year that I had Bella who would be starting soon and she said she'd fight to have her! Well she got her and I laughed when she said it was truly a fight!

LOCKERS and all!

(Lucky kiddos just had the first day of school switched to the day after Labor Day, I wished for that forever as a kid!)

To celebrate the first week of school we went and got doughnuts!
And talked about our teachers and friends.
Connor has his two best friends in his class, Ryan and Wyatt. It is going to be a good year!  He just randomly screams I HATE SCHOOL around the house and then laughs maniacally, at least he is good natured about it.
And Bella was very disappointed that Hollis her best friend wasn't in her class but she truly has made friends quickly and she said one little girl, Lily, asked if they could be best friends and she said yes!
Now she has so many friends I can't even count!

And I get updates from both their teachers regularly, I love good communication!
Shea and I have been writing notes for their lunches every day but honestly I think I am going to stop considering the only ones they notice are Sheas. They come home shouting DAD I GOT YOUR NOTE!

It is so fun to see these two in school being such good friends and good examples for one another.
The first day Connor craddled Bella who was crying and half carried her to the car, like the sweetest big brother EVER! Turns out she had gotten lost in a crowd while waiting in the car rider spot. So now he picks his sister up and they go together.

It is going to be a good year!

(I can't believe we have two school kids!)
