STEAM FAIR

Connor has been talking about the Science Fair STEM Fair STEAM FAIR, for forever.
His class made projects so he had been working with his team for a month working on his project for the fair.
Each morning he'd tell me something new about it or he would tell me something new he had to have for it.
I promised we go to his STEAM FAIR and take lots of pictures for Daddy.
Bella actually had a birthday party to go to, her first one! But didn't want to miss the FAIR!
And honestly I didn't know what to expect.
I was very impressed it was a lot of fun.

We started out in the library with tables of different activities for the kids to play with.

After 15 minutes playing there was a SCIENCE MAGIC SHOW!
Which was a lot of fun and the kids loved.

Front Row
We made our way to the cafeteria next where there were animal furs and animals to see and pet.

They make me melt!

Bella and Ryan.
The rest of the cafeteria was set up with the projects, by grade.

Showing off for his friend Ryan.

His Project!
It definitely wasn't what I imagined. Haha! But SO PROUD!

There was a musical performance next (the A in STEAM = Arts) (?).
It was really sweet but the cafeteria was really loud and not many watched, I felt so bad for the kids on stage.

Next we went down the first floor halls where rooms were open for different stations.
Paper Planes, Hula Hoops, Bowling, Robots, Virtual Reality Goggles, Boat Making and Racing and More.
They had a blast!

Robot Dancing and Talking

A few projects were in the hallways as well, that the fifth graders were showing.

We will definitely go again, and I think Connor will always be excited for SCIENCE STEM STEAM FAIRS in the future.

St. Patricks Day

Our annual Leprechaun Treasure Hunt
Did I mention I didn't really consider this a tradition and wasn't planning on it until the day before when Connor mentioned to the girls that it was St. Patricks Day tomorrow and a leprechaun always comes and they get to go on a hunt for his gold, we've done it the past two years so I guess it's offically mandatory. Ha.
(I read the clues and Shea took video so pictures are slim but it was fun and cute for the kids to find green milk in the fridge, or green bubbles in the sink, or green water in the toilet, or the green note the leprechaun left them; they loved every little bit!)

For dinner I made Corned Beef Brisket, and it made a ton! But was fun to have while we watched
The Magical Legend of the Leprechauns!

Snow Day

Connor has been patiently awaiting a SNOW DAY for months. And honestly we all had given up hope. But after a promising forecast and big hype at school, Connor was elated. I told the kids if they wanted they could wear thier pajamas inside out, Connor was the only one that was all over it and even wore his "lucky necklace". Before he went to bed we got the first few flakes and were hoping they continued.
Fortunately they did! And after Ice Age and breakfast they were jumping into snow gear and ready for the playing and SLEDDING (Santa got them Sleds for Christmas and we were starting to think we would have to slide them down the grass hill in the back instead of a snowed one).

First ever sledders...

Posing Bella vs. Screaming Piper

Trying to force a smile out of her

It was an EPIC SLEDDING DAY.

PIPER HATES THE SNOW AND COLD!
SHE HAD NO FUN,
NO SMILES,
NO LAUGHTER;
THIS WAS HER LOOK THE WHOLE TIME!

We had snow sundaes and watched the movie Snow Day to end our Snow Day.

We even enjoyed an icy day the next day with Uncle Joe.

And then as quickly as it came it dissapeared.

"Peace out snow! Never come again!"
