2 UNDER 2

It wont be much longer that we have two under two.
(Connor is turning two on Sunday!)

And as challenging as it is with diapers, dishes, laundry, baths and bedtime; we couldn't be happier :)

Monday in May

Our Memorial Day in the sun.

Carousel Riding.
Began like this...

 Ended like this...

It was so cute he tried to say "weeeee" through gritted teeth and a scared grimace. And everytime the music ended he would say excitedly "OH DONE!" and then the music would start again, and he said "oh maaan". The music played several times so by the end he was very ready to go to Daddy. Daddy tried to get a picture with Connor on the horse, but he kept saying "No Way, No Way, No Way!"

 Bye Bye Carousel.
 On to Playground fun!
Racing across the bridge.
Playing with friends.

 Sleeping while Strolling.
Wingers for Dinner.
Chicken and Waffles.
Chicken for Mommy and Daddy.
Fingers for Bella.

Anxious for waffles.
Oh yum.
Waffles for our Con.

Yummy dessert.

In honor of Memorial Day, we would like to thank all those that serve in the Armed Forces and gave their lives for our tomorrows. It is an extraordinary gift they who serve can give.

Mommy Mission

I got this African Daisy for Mother's Day.
I am loving the Mommy Mission.

Being a Mommy is hard and trying, sometimes I am so tired it is hard to keep up, but I learn new lessons everyday, and it is the most inspiring and rewarding experience there is. Nurturing both my son and my daughter is the happiest and illuminating of lives I could live. I am one lucky girl to be what I always wanted to be. And to be married to a man that supports and encourages every step I take on this path through motherhood.

Thanks Connor.

For making me a sword fighting, bubble chasing, splash bath giving, dino roaring, "Super Why" dancing, fruit snack munching, boy chasing Mommy.

Thanks Bella.

For making me a nose kissing, whisper wishing, pink buying, sleep watching, giggle entrancing, bow obsessing, worst cry ever fretting Mommy.
------------------------------------------------------------

My Mom taught me the truth about motherhood. It can be silly. It can be messy. It can be noisy. And it can always be happy. It can be what you make it. So even though my dishes aren't done or the wash is hanging about playing with my two littles and watching them grow is what makes motherhood the greatest gift I could have. There are too many out there that take their time with their children for granted.

“Motherhood is the greatest potential influence either for good or ill in human life. The mother's image is the first that stamps itself on the unwritten page of the young child's mind. It is her caress that first awakens a sense of security; her kiss, the first realization of affection; her sympathy and tenderness, the first assurance that there is love in the world.” David McKay

So Thanks Mom for making me the Mom I am today.
Just the other day you said, while viewing us on skype, "It is so amazing seeing you being what you always wanted to be, from when you were little playing with dolls to now."
It is amazing and I love it, every minute. Even the hard ones when their screaming and I feel like crying. Because those days always end in hugs and sleep snuggles, and much needed back massages from a loving husband that cares for his family above anything else.

6.5 Mons in Pajamas

Our Marita Bonita (Beautiful Little Marie) as she is commonly known by her Daddy, turned 6 months on April 20th. But with life as crazy as it is, she is now 6 months and 3 weeks.

Favorite ALL TIME Picture

Update:

Bella is darling, it seems a silly word to use but I can't imagine another word to describe her. She is happy most of the time and loves giving free smiles, to anyone that shines her way. She is peaceful in the bath and the swing and enjoys her bumbo sitting and playpen naps. She is sporting 9 mons and 12 mons clothing. Although Mom and Dad are buying 12 mons mainly so they fit her longer, even if they run a little big for now. Mommy likes to think she is a girly girl all the way, and is pushing dolls and dresses. But playing with a car or a doll is all the same to her. She likes showing off her tongue and making wild faces with her tongue hanging out, she is not much of a drooler but her tongue makes an appearance on most occasions. She dreads the car seat, as all seem to at this age. She has proven to us that the spit up stage is still in full reign. She has long nails that Mommy dreads to cut, Daddy is the assigned nail trimmer, and he to is scared of cutting too low. Inside or outside she smiles and takes it all in. She likes faces more than places, she isn't as much of an observer as Connor was, she is much more of a charmer. She delights in people. I guess you could call her a people watcher. Later on in life she will probably kill me for saying this, but she is one gassy girl. Whenever, wherever, she has no shame. She rules our home with the loudest most pungent toots known.

Weight: 17.2 lbs (61%)
Height: 27 in. (79%)

Enjoying tummy time and eating her bow

Goofy face

Milestones:

Sitting up all on her own!
Started Rice Cereal, and baby food.
Just started jabbering.
Moves her toys from hand to hand, usually they end up in her mouth either way.
Started lunging at objects, out of her reach. This has not ended well, face planting into toys results in tears and cuddles.
Rolling from place to place with wiggles in between to change direction.
Playing in the mirror with herself.
Looks towards you when you call her name.
"Mouthing" her fist and other objects.
Rubs her eyes when she is tired, with her fists.

Giving dolly hugs

Watching her brother dance all around

 Likes:

Staring at her brother bounce around the room.
Smiling and laughing at her brother being silly, she is her brother's biggest fan. She enjoys nothing more than when Connor gives her his undivided attention to make her giggle.
She loves touching Mommy's face with her tiny fingers.
She loves her tummy, and rolls around playing on her belly as long as Mommy lets her.
She is over the moon to be in Daddy's arms and nothing is more relaxing than Daddy softly patting her bum, as she falls safely into dreamland.

Toe Touching

 Dislikes:

She pouts when Connor takes away her toys. (It is hard for him to learn she can put things in her mouth and he can't.)
She isn't a rice cereal fan, she eats it but not much. She hates baby carrots, which means she is prob going to be a veggie hater since carrots are one of the sweetest in the bunch.
The car seat and driving, sometimes.
Anything that covers her face, no matter how quick. (Even pulling her dress over her head sends her into a startled little hysteria, but she is easy to calm down.)
