Connor is 9.5 Months!
- No crawling or cruising or standing or pulling himself up yet. He is still a wobbly top. But we are making progress. We are getting closer to crawling everyday.
- Connor eats baby cereal, baby fruits and veggies really well. And he eats finger foods pretty well. We give him full crackers sometimes (while were watching) and he does great. Just biting off the edges with his front chompers. We are so impressed.
- His doctor’s appt this month was exciting for us because we decided to venture to a new doctor that is a little closer than the old one. It was also exciting because we haven’t had a real way to judge his height and weight. So here was the outcome …
Height: 28 inches, 36th Percentile
Weight: 22 lbs, 69th Percentile
- The doctor was very nice, Shea loved the new doctor! Connor is doing great. He will probably be a late crawler and a late walker due to all his little rolls. But that is fine with us. We have more freedom before our rampant child starts getting into everything everywhere. And the best news from his doctor’s appt. NO SHOTS! Yay for Connor! It is crazy to think his next appt is scheduled and he will be a YEAR OLD!
Milestones:
- Connor has learned to poke with his fingers. So beware of your eyes, because we are in the eye poking phase. Watch out.
- Drinks from bottle independently. He just started drinking water at night, when he gets cranky.
- He claps when he gets excited.
- He just learned to give High Fives. If you put your hand up and say High Five he will put his hand up too, so you can clap it!
- He pats the ground, when he is playing and excited.
- He bangs toys together.
- Points at everything, especially facial features
- Your baby now can pull himself up to a standing position from sitting down.
- His Sixth Tooth cut March 15th! And his mouth is constantly filled with either fingers or toes. And we are struggling with more teeth on the way and tears to accompany them.
If you click on this picture you can zoom in and may catch a peek of tooth 6 and 7 on either side of his front top teeth, the incisors. |
- Enjoys making loud sounds when it is quiet, or we are in a large room.
- Loves grabbing facial features.
- His new oddity is he loves to bang his feet on anything and everything, the wall, the vent, the door, the desk, the bookcase, and if nothing else the floor. The louder and cooler the sound the better.
- Bath time. (And he is getting more balance in the bath tub.)
- HE LOVES THE JOHNNY JUMP UP! He will spin and jump in it every chance he gets. He will even fall asleep in it. But his recent bump on the head occurred while slamming into the door frame in the jump up, so sad. So now were taking a break from the jump up.
- Balloons!
- Dogs! He has only been around a little one but it totally licked him (I know gross) and he loved it and giggled to death and totally fell over and giggled more! I picked him up after the licking part, since I wasn’t fond of that. But he would just touch it and laugh over and over.
- His feet. He likes pulling, sucking, kicking, biting, holding, and rubbing them together. He loves his feet!
Dislikes:
- Getting dry after baths and getting new clothes on.
- Terrified of crumpling of paper, still scared to death. If you try to open a bag of chips around him he freaks. But he is getting much better with this fear.
- We have to be so careful. (But I can’t help to giggle a little when he screams and I get to comfort my little silly man).

- When Mommy and Daddy say “No” or “No Mouth” he will sometimes just look up and cry.
- Diaper Changes!
- Dark places, he will avoid all dark places and he gets nervous when it is dark. He will hold on tighter and hug you a little closer. SO cute!
Mommy’s and Daddy’s Favorite Connor-isms:
- HE IS TICKLISH! He gets all squirmy and fights his giggles with covering his face and filling his mouth with his hands. I love his tickle giggles. It is ADORABLE!
- Face fun, Connor loves pointing to (and pulling on) your facial features. So we turned this into a game by making funny noises for each feature. Or sometimes I will just say the name in a funny voice, like “mouth, mouth, mouth” really quick and high and “nose, nose, nose” really long and low. Anyway he loves it!
- The new Connor Daddy Games! Daddy will mimic Connor’s sounds, and no matter his mood it cheers him up. And a fun game to encourage a little crawling is a chase game. It started off as Daddy chasing Connor but he didn’t really get it and would just stop and wait to get caught. So now it is a Connor chases Daddy game. - - All around the house.
- He plays peek-a-boo with Mommy now and he will pull the blanket over his face and get so excited!
- He thinks it is so funny when Mommy puts a hat on him. Of course his hand goes directly to try and pull it off but he also gives me such a smile, as if to say "What did you put on my head Mom? Your Silly!".

Connor thinks hats are silly. When he wears then or other people. He gives Daddy a silly grin when he wears a hat and then tries to pull it off. |
And now picture time is done! |
He is becoming very independent.
It is so fun to see our little man grow so much!
