So today Shea and I went furniture shopping in Idaho Falls. We were looking for a nice rocker/recliner chair and a TV stand. And we found both and we got a bonus.
This is the blogworthy part... at one store they let you pick a free gift on the way out. And the gifts were all totally random. Like Easter Napkins, Notebooks, Highlighters, Pencils, And Glue Sticks. Okay so just the other day I was making a card for my Dad and I used the last of any paste-like product in the house. And I told Shea that we are in desperate need of glue sticks now. And we never seem to remember buying the things we actually need when we are out. So when we went to the store and got free brand new glue sticks I was stoked.
I know your probably thinking that I am crazy. But I seriously couldn't stop saying "Can you believe we got free glue sticks Shea? That rocks." All the way home I was so excited for our glue stick bonus!!

Our Lil Monkey
Is it a surprise that we call this boy our Monkey Man?
Connor loves to be upside down like a lil monkey...
Connor loves to have Mommy and Daddy swing him like a monkey...
He even sleeps like a lil monkey, with his arms and legs wrapped around Daddy...

EIGHT is GrEaT!
Connor is 81/2 Months Old!
- Connor learned to splash in the tub, and if you get close to put the soap on him he will splash you. So cute but very wet!
Update:
- We are working on Connor clapping, waving and giving high fives!
- He is taking short naps, but sleeping better at night!
- He is starting to get a bottle before bed, because it fills him up more and he sleeps better with it. After his bottle he is usually out in seconds.
- If you are holding Connor when he is mad, he will climb up you to try to get away.
- Still loving the bath!
- Still sits in the bumbo happily as long as he is entertained or eating. He is getting too big for it though.

- Hates the swing, unless he is already asleep.
- Has a new car seat!
Estimated Height: 27 (maybe a smidge under)
Estimated Weight: 22+ lbs (We have no idea really, because I have been waiting for an accurate weight but we can't get a scale)
Look at that adorable, toothy grin! |
Milestones:
- Cut his 2 Front Top Teeth and his 2 front bottom teeth!
- Quite the conversationalist: Making “mama”, “baba”, “dada” sounds. BEST SOUNDS EVER!
- He is starting to get a little separation anxiety, when Mommy or Daddy leave the room for example. But he is still content when people hold him so no Stranger Danger Anxiety yet. Which I like because I love that he is content in anyones arms. Even if you have never met.
- His vision is like a hawk, he gets every little thing on the floor even after we vacuumed and Mommy tried to get everything she saw. We have to keep a sharp eye on what he is doing and what he is putting in his mouth, since he is still in the oratory phase.
- Clapping, Connor's latest trick! He does it all the time, but if your clapping he will just get excited and smile at you.
-He is doing the commando crawling now. Where he is on his stomach and drags himself across the floor by pushing off with his feet and pulling with one arm.
-And in terms of real crawling he is making progress towards it. He will now get on his hands and knees and bounce a little, like he is trying to work up the momentum to go. And then he will lunge and fall. But he is getting closer and closer!

Likes:
- Lots of attention, whenever someone gives him some he gives a smile in return
- Bouncing when in someone’s arms
- Playing Peek-a-boo, with people and objects
- Playing with a ball, throwing and rolling it (but Mommy and Daddy are doing all the throwing and rolling but he loves watching where the ball will go and trying to get it!)
- Jumping around in his Johnny Jump-up
-Trying to feed himself

-Trying to feed himself
- Sippy Cup
- Loud noises: Vacuum, blender, hair dryer, crumpling paper (terrifies him)
- Being woken up when he wasn't finished his nap
- Too mnay kisses
- Getting toys taken away
- Having his diaper changed, it is so up in the air one month he is fine and the next it is a huge ordeal. And this month he is not a fan. He tries to squirm away and hates to have to be still. So he usually ends up screaming.

Mommy’s Favorite Connor-isms:
- Connor likes being read bedtime stories and eating the bedtime storybook.
- Playing “I am going to eat your fingers” with Mommy, he will put his fingers in my mouth so I can chomp on them, again and again. And he will laugh!
- I bought Connor a toothbrush and it came with a couple so one of them I just let him play with, and he loves chewing on it all the time!

Daddy’s Favorite Connor-isms:
- Playing “I am going to get you” with Daddy he will bury himself in Mommy and giggle
- Playing cowboys and indians with Daddy (this is how the game goes Daddy bounces Connor on his knees and makes giddy up noises and then turns connor and says "Oh no its Indians, they are chasing us", so then he bounces really fast and makes Connor laugh so hard- there is more to it but thats the jist)- Connor learned to splash in the tub, and if you get close to put the soap on him he will splash you. I LOVE US!

So this year we had some US time!
Connor had just come down with a bad cold so he had to crash our party. So we did a quick dinner at a local sandwich place, called Gator Jack's. Then we went to the store and found some candy for US! I love that family comes first and we couldn't leave our sick little boy and so we had a nice Valentine's Day with him too. We even got him a balloon! And he really enjoyed it once he wasn't so sick.
Our little Love Bug!
Shea surprised me with a "love note" and some cash that he insisted I spend on myself shopping. Since I never get too anymore. And then this weekend we drove to a big mall in Boise where I got to shop to my hearts content. LOVED IT! LOVE SHEA!
When Connor got better the next week, we went to dinner at Olive Garden just US! And had a great time talking about our silly stories and dating blunders. It is so fun looking back at all our US memories!
And for a little bit of Holiday History:
Saint Valentine's Day, is a celebration of love and affection between courting couples. The day first became associated with romantic love in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished.
According to legend St Valentine was persecuted as a Christian and interrogated by Roman Emperor Claudius II in person. Claudius was impressed by Valentine and had a discussion with him, attempting to get him to convert to Roman paganism in order to save his life. Valentine refused and tried to convert Claudius to Christianity instead. Because of this, he was executed. Before his execution, he is reported to have performed a miracle by healing the blind daughter of his jailer. On the evening before Valentine was to be executed, he would have written the "first valentine" card himself, addressed to a young girl variously identified as his beloved, as the jailer's daughter whom he had befriended and healed, or both. It was a note that read "From your Valentine."

Date Night
So last week was a rough one for Shea. He had three tests and it was an extremely cold week (it was -20 one day), but shea just had to endure all the winter weather and stand in line to take tests. By Friday night he was worn out and was looking for something fun to do. So he suggested a Family Date Night (since we wanted to take Connor). I think Shea mainly suggested it for my sake, because he is more of a homebody and I am not. He told me he realized that he had been gone all week studying, going to class, and taking tests, and working, while I have been left at home alone. Yeah thats right after that hard core week my husband sits down on the couch and feels bad for me because I have been so bored at home relaxing. Haha. I love him and I totally took advantage of it. And so we went out!
Connor enjoyed munching on the goldfish that they had. It was such a bonus that they had something Connor could eat, so as to occupy him the whole time.
Then we got RED out at Redbox and watched it at home. It didn't take Connor long to get comfortable for the movie watching! Shea is Connor's new Lazy Boy. Sometimes I am a little jealous of Connor because he gets to cuddle with Shea more than I do.
We had dinner at Craigos! A pizza buffet place in town, that we used to go to when we were dating.
We haven't gone out for awhile so it was a lot of fun! While we were eating we played this game where we would guess what the story was for different couples (we saw this game in a movie). It was silly to guess if it was an ackward first date, or who liked who more... Anyway it sounds kind of mean now that I explain it but it is just us being silly.

So next DATE NIGHT were getting a sitter for Connor, because Shea is all mine :)

New Discovery
Can you guess what Connor just discovered?
IT'S THE ROCKING CHAIR!
I sat him on the rocking chair, just for the sake of it being cute. And Connor was fascinated!
He loved staring through the bars at me!
He loved rocking himself back and forth!
He even loved how tipsy it got, it made him laugh!
He loved feeling the hard, smooth wood!
Then he decided to show off his pearly whites,
can you make out his bottom chompers?
It was a good day!
But Mommy took to many pictures!
